tsumetai kisaki: translation : the coldhearted/frozen empress.

This is another digital painting that I've done. Basically, like + charm + except with a more complex lineart and slightly different-styled coloring. I started this out with a basic rough lineart (it'll be in my scraps by the end of the day) and I painted over it, trying to use a more painterly style. It took me a while-- about six hours, but I'm proud of the result.

I'm still experimenting with the style, so any critiques on painting would be really appreciated! I tried to do eyes this time, I'm pretty happy with them, but they could be better. Any advice you have, I'm willing to take! It says critique discouraged below, that's for the anatomy... feel free to crit my painting style!

So yeah... there's really no backstory to the image here. It started out as a geisha girl and managed to turn into this all-blue, snowy piece. The white hair was suggested by a friend, and so the end result is what you see here. Yes, I know, her hand looks kind of weird-- but give me a break, it's the first time I've tried to shade anything other than a face in this style!
